Boudoir Photo shoot - Boudoir Photo Shoot in London

Boudoir photo shoot can bring out the very best in a woman, and reminds us that the female body is a beauty to behold – a true wonder of the world. Women come in all forms, shapes and sizes, and here at GK London, we believe that this unique beauty should be celebrated with a one-of-a-kind boudoir photo shoot.
Boudoir photography has existed throughout the ages, and it could be argued that the French Renaissance period paved the way for the type of glamour shots that are so common today. It was in this period that artists began to paint women in a sensual way. Many of the paintings from this era were regarded as provocative because the subjects wore little to no clothing and nudity was regarded as a massive taboo, but this only fuelled the fascination with the feminine form.

It is probably safe to say that it was in the 1920’s that boudoir photography came to the fore, despite nudity in images being illegal. Photographers such as Albert Arthur Allen began to take ground breaking pictures of women of all shapes and sizes, in a variety of romantic and intimate locations. In the 1940’s, boudoir photography moved away from the fringes, and became a recurring theme with curvy pin-up models. These models often posed suggestively and dressed in an array of sexy garments such as stockings and suspenders.

Then came a certain Marilyn Monroe, who changed the whole landscape of boudoir photography. Marilyn Monroe became the most iconic sex symbol in the world, appearing in countless classic movies. She also featured in many boudoir photo shoots, and her stunning curvy physique inspired women to celebrate their bodies in the 1960’s, heralding in a wave of female empowerment and liberty.

Boudoir photography is now widely regarded as being very artistic, and this change of attitude over the decades has culminated in more and more women wanting to get their own glamour and lingerie photos done. That’s not to say that boudoir pictures are limited to lingerie, as many women also choose to dress more modestly, such as in silky robes, gowns or dresses. What matters is that you are comfortable dressing however you want in your boudoir shoot and feel sexy enough to take some unforgettable exotic shots!

Our boudoir photographer has many years of experience taking pictures of all kinds of women, and is an expert in making you feel extremely comfortable in our spacious studio. You will be guided along the way and given tips if you feel like you are running out of ideas in terms of poses and outfits and we will make sure that you get the most amazing intimate photos that you can take home to appreciate yourself, or to share with your partner!

Many women like to treat their partners to some seductive photos, and a photo shoot of this kind can spice up the intimacy in a relationship. Glamour shoots are quite popular with newlyweds or bridesmaids to-be, and while it’s expected that you will get the support of your friends during this process, it’s important to remember a boudoir session should be done solo, as it encapsulates the unique bond that you have with your partner.

Before you arrive for your boudoir photo session, you want to look as sexy as possible. It’s massively important to have a good night’s rest on the night before your shoot, and if you plan to do some lingerie photos, remember to wax around a week before, so that your skin looks naturally smooth and soft. Another great preparation tip for your boudoir photo shoot is to work on your posture beforehand. Keeping your back straight and holding your stomach in is a surefire way to get the best possible angles.

You will need to bring in at least four different changes of outfits and different lingerie sets before you star in your own boudoir session, as you want to get as much variation and as many sexy shots as possible. Once you arrive at our studio, our creative team will guide you through the whole process and give you some alcoholic drinks to relax and get you in the mood for your intimate shoot. We will style your hair to perfection and give you the finest makeup around, so that you are primed and ready to dazzle on camera!

The scope for creativity in a Boudoir photo shoot is endless, with so many different looks to go for. Pin-up is a very popular type of photography, as it is very outgoing, flirty and retro. It also features extravagant and colourful costumes, as well as fantastic hairstyles to match. Artistic and implied nude shoots work with shape and light to create beautiful images of the female body in its natural form, while the typical fashion boudoir shoot usually incorporates plenty of eye contact, and even more seductive outfits and poses. We also can’t forget the voyeuristic ‘getting ready’ boudoir shoot, which captures you in a private setting, putting on your favourite lingerie items. This particular type of shoot is a firm favourite, as each shot will look perfectly natural.

A boudoir shoot is a brilliant way for women to not only boost self-esteem, but to self-love again. Boudoir photo shoots can propel female confidence to new heights, regardless of size or height. Every woman is beautiful in their own right, and they should be able to love their own bodies and feel sexy, whilst wearing their favourite lingerie or clothing. Not only will you get sexy artistic images that you and your partner can treasure forever, you will feel empowered and have a great deal of fun along the way.
